What to wear to a bridal shower.

Bridal shower attire 101

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and wedding season is upon us.  Along with wedding season is a whole slew of other events including bridal showers.  So many of us wonder what is appropriate to wear to a shower.  There are a few rules but mostly it depends on the location and events.

Rule #1 Don't wear something that makes you the center of attention.  Let the bride be the center of attention.

Rule #2  Try not to wear black.  Black is associated with loss and funerals in so many occasions.  Save the little black dress for a night out on the town or the Bachelorette party!

Rule #3  Don't wear white.  Let the bride be the only one in white if she chooses to wear white.  Think of the same rules that apply to the wedding.

Rule #4  Wear something appropriate to the setting.  If for example you are going to high tea..  you probably don't want to wear something too short or too tight.  If it is a backyard party,  don't wear something too short and full just in case the wind comes up.  Dress for the occasion.

Here are a few examples of dresses that would be appropriate for just about any shower.
